Garden wedding styled shoot at The Scott.
The longer I walk this journey of entrepreneurship the more I find that when unexpected pivots and turns come that may feel frustrating or disappointing, often it leads to problem-solving and a beautiful outcome. This styled shoot was one that was birthed out of an unexpected disappointment of an event falling through. This photo-shoot came together by an incredibly talented group of ladies.
- Planning + design: Events By Paris
- Venue: The Scott Resort + Spa
- Florals: Milk + Honey Florals
- Photography: Pinkerton Associates
- Menu: Enamour Design by Liza Child
This styled shoot will go down in my books as one of my all time faves. Truly, you cannot beat classic, effortless, organic design. The cream linen table set against the Scott’s lush green backdrop and a tabletop adorned with abundant florals was breathtaking. Dripping taper candles alongside fresh fruit were small yet impactful design decisions that created an elegant table that was beyond beautiful.
I can’t tell you the amount of times groups of ladies walked past and would stop and gasp saying “oh my goodness this is the most beautiful table” or “I want to sit and have dinner here!”
“What do you want your wedding or event to feel like?”
If you are a bride planning her wedding, my suggestion when dreaming up your day is to start simple. The amount of overload you receive when scrolling through endless options of designs on insta or Pinterest can become mottling and overbearing when it comes to actually setting the tone of your dream day. Lot’s of clients I work with have a whole Pinterest board full of designs, colors, and flowers that typically don’t align and tell a story they are wanting. Instead of looking at tons of photos, I like to first ask what you want your event or wedding to feel like. From there picking a color scheme + aesthetic can be created. I lI like to think of the overall design in terms of layers. Breaking it down into different moment’s is helpful when planning your own wedding table design. Start off with a base layer (theme, colors, feel, design) + go from there, making design decisions that fit within your overall aesthetic.
Adding elements that create a cohesive + impactful design are the key to setting the tone for your intimate wedding or gathering. The overall feel Paris had suggested for this design was English-garden, organic, playful yet classic. I used greenery on the lights to add an extra layer of texture to the scene. Abundant centerpieces using a mix of pastels, flower shapes, and color play added interest and depth to the table. I chose figs + seasonal pears to dot throughout the design, again adding in another layer of intrigue to the table. The mix of colors, shapes, and scale created a romantic scene that was jaw dropping.
The menus + place cards were absolutely stunning by… I can’t tell you how much I oohed + awed over these. … Truly has an incredible craft she has mastered.
This styled shoot at The Scott Resort and Spa nestled in the heart of East Scottsdale was the peeerfect backdrop for the look + feel we were hoping for. And you cannot beat the autumn in Phoenix. Although we don’t have red + yellow trees dropping leaves, we do have 70 degrees all day with the prettiest golden sun sets. I truly believe that we live in the best location for weddings. Arizona is a dream wedding destination and if you are looking for a stellar backdrop in the heart of Arizona.
